A Break...Well Kinda (Courtney)

Nikki was sat in the park practising her guitar. She was taking a break from the tour she was on...well kinda. She was still doing what she would be doing in practice but she was relaxing which made a change. Nikki was loving the Set The World On Fire Tour but really couldn't wait for it to be over so she could have her wedding.
She sat under the tree strumming a few chords to her favorite song, Carnival Of Rust, singing a few of the words when she she saw someone watching her. Nikki smiled.

"Hi." She said happily.

Courtney was at the recording studio that day to talk with her team about releasing an old unreleased song. Since she wasn't making music for the whole year she thought it would keep fans interested if she gave them something they were waiting years for. After the meeting was over she walked out of the building then heard someone singing. Courtney really liked what she was hearing so she looked around then spotted someone sitting under a tree. She walked over to continue to listen but stopped when the woman greeted her.

"Hey, I'm so sorry if I'm interrupting you. I just liked your voice and wanted to get a little closer so I could hear you better." Courtney said with a friendly smile.

"It's fine. Nice to know I had other talents besides playing the guitar." Nikki smiled as she brushed her hair out her eyes. She rested her guitar on the tree.
"I'm Nikki."

Courtney chuckled lightly.

"I'm Courtney, it's nice to meet you." Courtney said.

"Nice to meet you too." Nikki smiled 'sit for a while?" Nikki asked.

Courtney thought about it then nodded after a minute. Her husband was with the kids so she could stay out for a little bit longer. She sat down next to Nikki and smiled again.

"So how long have you sung and played guitar?" Courtney asked.

"Guitar,..since I was like 5 and singing is kinda new, I'm only really back up vocals." Nikki said as she put her guitar pick into her bag.

"Ah, that's really cool." Courtney said. "Are you in band?"

"Yeah I'm the guitarist for Reckless Love." Nikki replied.

"Were you playing a song you guys wrote?" Courtney asked.

"That? Nah, that's just the song that was playing when I met my fiance." Nikki smiled.

"Aww, that's really sweet." Courtney said, smiling back.

"Everyone has that one song." Nikki smiled.

"Yeah, my and my husband's song is 'Back At One' by Brian McKnight." Courtney said.

"Not heard that one, doesn't really sound like my genre." Nikki opened her bag and pulled out a carton of cigarettes. "Do you mind if I smoke? Some people hate it."
