Mixed Emotions (John/Elle)

John continues to look out the window

Bree pulls up to a house twenty minutes later.

John unbuckles his seatbelt and looks over at Elle

Elle sighs as she just sits there, looking at the house.

"Are you sure you want to do this now?" He asked

Elle nods her head.

"I need to just get this over with." She says.

"Alright lets go in there and do what we have to." John says

Elle nods her head, getting out of the car and walking towards the house.

John gets out and follows her in

Elle opens the door to the house, cringing at the smell of the house.

"This place reeks of alcohol." Elle says, walking further into the house.

"Yeah it does." John says following her

Elle looks around for a moment before heading upstairs.

John follows her upstairs

Elle goes into her mother's bedroom.

John stands behind her

Elle picks up a picture of her and her mom that was on the dresser.

"Wow, I can't believe she has this." She says.

"What?" He asked

"This picture of us, especially after all that has happened between us." She replies.

"You want to talk about it?"

Elle puts the picture on the dresser before sitting at the end of the bed.

"My mother and I had a pretty good relationship when I was younger. Until my parents split for good and then she started to date Michael, who is my step dad. I didn't know about my mother's...problem until I was like six when I saw her passed out on the floor after one of her binges. From that point on it only got worse. My mom and Michael would get into these dunkend arguments right in front of me and my mother started going along with Michael when he would I say I was worthless and would amount to nothing." Elle says, sighing as she stops for a moment.

John sits next to her putting his arm around her

"Take your time babe." He says

Elle nods her head as she rests her head on John's shoulder.

"I dealt with that from them for most of my life. And when Michael tried to rape me one time, it only worsened things over here. My mother didn't believe me and though he only got so far that one time, it didn't stop him from trying or leaving hints when he was drunk or sober. My mother just thought it was because I was a whore." She says. "That's what it was like for me growing up, but as many bad moments that we've had together those few years when it was good between us, always gave me hope that it would go back to that. It never did, my mom attempted to become sober many, many times in my life and I kept letting her back in until I couldn't take it anymore."

John rubbed Elle's back

"She OD'd after being sober for almost two years." Elle says.

"On what?" John asked
