Session Number One (Jonathan)

Lucky had been talking to Cassie a few days earlier and she had just fallen apart. She admitted that she needed help and Cass gave her Jonathan's card. Lucky called and set up an appointment. Lucky sat in the waiting room of his office and waited for her session to begin. She desperately needed the help.

Jonathan opened the door and saw Lucky sat down.
"Lucky Barrett?" he asked.

Lucky stood up and grabbed her bag, "That would be me." she said as she walked over to him.

He gave a quick smile "Lovely to meet you please come in."

"nice to meet you too." she put on a small smile as she walked into his office.

Jonathan shut the door behind her and sat behind his desk.
"So what is it you need help with Lucky?" Jonathan asked as he put his glasses on and picked up his pad and pen.

Lucky sat down, "Well, I pretty much hate myself, I'm depressed, Suicidal, no will to eat, I can't sleep. I've just been through a divorce, no self-confidence." she said

Jonathan wrote everything down.
"And how did all this come about?"

"Well, it started when I cheated on him and it just built from then. A few months back I had an abortion." she winced at the word, "He got mad at me, but the baby wasn't his and I haven't told him, I just can't."

"And what lead you to cheat on your husband? What problems were you having?"

"We used to fight a lot and we couldn't get along. I had alcohol problems and I was just young, rebellious." She said, "He also cheated on me."

"So there's a history of problems going on here....and how has all this effected your relationships with other...friends, family?"

"I pretty much drove most of my friends away, my family is disgusted with me, and my ex doesn't trust me with our children."

"You have had it rough haven't you?" Jonathan said "And I've noticed signs of abuse...I see it often in cases such as this."

Lucky nodded, "I've been cutting, and my ex boyfriend has been beating me."

"I think it would be good to talk about it."

"It's too hard..."

"It would be helpful, I understand how hard it is for you." Jonathan said softly.

"I wouldn't even know where to begin..."

"Go from the start."

"Well, I met Heath when I was 17. He was 21. We started dating around then and I had gotten pregnant with him, he wanted me to marry him but I declined. Not to mention that he was beating me before this to. I miscarried and we broke it off. It was all good between us until about a year ago. He kept pestering me about dumping my husband to go back to him. And my husband beat him up. Then a few weeks before me and my husband decided to divorce he tried to rape me. I ended up breaking his arm and now he's back with vengeance." she finished

"So it's been happening for a long time hasn't it? Has any of this effected your children at all?"

"They're too young to understand what's going on. But I'm sure it puts some stress on them. They heard me and their father arguing all the time."

"So this problem is psychologically affecting not only you, but your family as well and your friends."

Lucky nodded, "I feel awful." she sighed
