Stuck In Denial

Courtney woke up then looked around a little bit as she lied in a hospital bed. She didn't remember much she did that night except go to a club after telling Randy she would be back later. Courtney looked over then saw Riley.

"Why am I here?" Courtney asked.

"You passed out when I put you in the car." Riley said

"Oh." Courtney muttered as she looked at the wall.

"Courtney can you please tell me what is going on?"

"I told you. I haven't been sleeping for at least a week, I've had a lot of stress, and I've been drinking." Courtney said.

"Courtney I understand that, but there has to be more. All I want to do is help you." Riley said "Promise you I will not tell Randy or anyone anything Courtney I just want to help you."

"I have nightmares every night about when my dad shot Randy...but instead of getting back up Randy dies. I tried going back to sleep hoping it would go away but it just keeps coming back. I just want it to go away." Courtney said with tears in her eyes.

"But it won't...my dad keeps coming back into my life just to try to kill me. What if it actually happens next time? What if my dad kills Randy?" Courtney asked as tears starting rolling down her cheeks.

Riley walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her and just held her.

"Courtney I know your scared just like me. I know how you feel because there are things that you dont know just yet about what my dad has done to me. I'm not going to let anything happen to you because your my friend. If you have nightmares like that and you dont want to tell Randy about you come straight to me and we will figure this out together. I promise you that I will not let anyone get to you." She said rubbing her back

"No. He'll only get you two. Randy already got hurt, you don't need to get hurt either." Courtney said.

"Courtney I'm leaving you to fight him by yourself. Your one of my closes friends and I'm hoping that we can become best friends one day. I'm not going to let him hurt you again. Randy isnt going to let him hurt us. I know that you dont want us to get hurt Courtney we are doing this just to keep you safe." She says

"If Randy just let me die before when my dad shot me he never would have been shot." Courtney said.

"Courtney Benson dont you dare to say that. You know that Randy loves you. He doesnt want to lose you, your his everything. He did it because of all of that." She says holding Courtney by the shoulders looking at her dead in the eyes.

"I wish he didn't. He wouldn't be getting hurt if it wasn't for me." Courtney said.

"Courtney you just the sweetest person alive. I dont know anyone that wouldnt want to save you from pain. That is why we want to do this. I need you around to help me with Orton when he starts acting crazy and I know he needs you because he loves you." She says

Courtney wiped a couple tears from her eyes.

"I love Randy too." Courtney said.

"You have to let us help you."

"I just don't want anymore people to get hurt." Courtney said.

"I know that you dint sweetie. That is why we are going to extra careful ok?"

Courtney nodded before she hugged Riley.

"Thank you." Courtney muttered.

"your welcome." Riley says hugging her back

"I'm sorry I haven't been the nicest person to you." Courtney said.

"Its okay." she said

Courtney nodded.

"So are you feeling better."

"A little." Courtney said.
