Getting Something Then Losing It (Courtney/Randy)

"Jake's still upstairs." Kayla said.

Elle knocked on the bedroom door before she peaked her head through the door.

"Mind if I come in?" Elle asked.

"Should we leave him?" Randy asked.

"No." Courtney muttered.

"I don't know." Kayla said.

Elle walked into the room, closing the door behind her.

"I came here as soon as I could when I found out what happened." She said as she sat down next to Courtney. "How are you doing?"

"I think he'll be fine." He said.

"Horrible." Courtney said as she wiped a tear away.

Kayla nodded as she continued lying her head on Randy's shoulder.

Elle leaned over and hugged Courtney.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you Court." She said.

Randy sat down on the couch and rubbed Kayla's back.

Courtney continued crying as she hugged Elle back.

"They said I can never have a baby ever again." Courtney said.

Kayla sniffled as she snuggled up to Randy.

Elle looked down at her friend as she rubbed her back.

"I'm so sorry Court, that's all that I can say." She said. "I know how much you wanted this baby, but at least you have Jake and Kayla."

Randy laid down and put a blanket over them.

"That's not going to make it better. I still lost a baby and I can't have anymore babies." Courtney said.

Kayla started to drift off to sleep.

"I get that losing a baby isn't easy but you have two beautiful children who love you." Elle said.

Randy kissed her forehead as he continued to hold Kayla.

"And that's supposed to make me feel better?! Well it doesn't! It doesn't make feel better at all!" Courtney yelled.

"I love you daddy." Kayla said softly.

"Court, I get it. You don't have to be mad at me, but you can't dwell on this either." She said. "You wouldn't let me do it and I'm not going to let you do it either."

"I love you too sweetie." He said.

"It just happened so fast. One second I had the baby then the next the baby was gone." Courtney said as she looked down.

Kayla feel asleep.

"It's a lot to take in Court...it's messed up that it had to be this way." Elle said.

Courtney sniffled then looked over at Jake and hugged him.

"I think I need to talk to Kayla." Courtney said.

"Want me to go get her?" Elle asked.

"Yeah." Courtney said.

Elle got up and walked out of the room.

Courtney started playing with Jake.

Elle walked into the living room to see Kayla asleep on Randy.

Elle came back into the room a few minutes later.

"Her and Randy fell asleep." She said.

"Oh okay." Courtney said.

Jake smiled as Courtney contined playing with him.

"Thanks for your help Elle." Courtney said.

"It's not a problem Court. You're always there for me and now I'm here for you." She said.

Courtney smiled then looked at Jake.

"Want something to eat sweetie? Come on let's get you something to eat." Courtney said as she stood up then picked Jake up.

"Glad to see you in a better mood." Elle said.

"Well like you said I can't dwell on it." Courtney said.

She walked to the door of the bedroom.

"You can stay if you want Elle." Courtney said.
