Someone New (Maria/Derek)

Derek scratched his head as he walked around the backstage of the arena Smackdown was being held at. He wasn't new, but it sure felt like it sense he had just been sent to the blue brand from RAW where he has been at since the beginning of career. Though he wasn't shy at all, he had grown so used to everyone at the other show, that he wasn't sure what to expect on Smackdown.

Turning around the corner Derek accidentally bumps into someone.

"Sorry....kind of got lost in thought for a moment." He said, stepping back and getting a full view of the red head.

"It's okay," Maria said.

Derek cleared his throat before he put his hand out.

"Derek Hayes, new to Smackdown." He introduced.

"Maria Kanellis, welcome to the blue brand," Maria shook his hand.

"Thanks." Derek said with a small grin. "This is a better welcoming than I got on RAW."

Maria smiled, adjusting her sketch book as it started to fall out from under her arm.

Derek caught the sketch book before it fell.

"Maybe clumsy but I have a amazing reflexes." He said, handing it back to her.

"Thanks," Maria smiled.

"You're welcome." Derek said. "So, you draw?"

"I design my own ring gear," Maria said.

"That's really cool." Derek said.

Maria nodded.

Derek nodded his head.

"Sorry, if I'm holding you up from something." He said.

"I was just about to grab some dinner," Maria said.

"Anything good around here?" Derek asked.

"I know this really good sushi place close by," Maria said.

"That does sound pretty good." Derek said.

"Wanna come with me?" Maria asked.

"Sure." Derek replied.

"Awesome," Maria smiled.

Derek smiled.

"Want me to meet you there or is it close enough to walk?" Derek asked.

"It's close enough to walk," Maria said.

Derek nodded his head as he began to walk down the hallway

"So, how do you like it over here?" He asked.

"It's pretty fun once you get some people on your side," Maria said.

"I feel like I'm a newbie all over again." Derek said.
