Catching Up With Family (Randy/Courtney)

Randy was outside messing with the grill while he waited for his dad. Cowboy was a master when it came to the grill and he wanted to get a start on it, or at least try to, before his mom and dad came over.

Hearing a knock on the door, he groaned kicking the side of the grill before walking inside to answer the door.

"Hey honey." Elaine said, hugging Randy and walking inside. "Where are the kids?" She asked.

Randy chuckled as Bob came behind Elaine, giving him a hug as well.

"Grandma, Grandpa!" Kayla yelled with a wide smile as she ran to the door.

Jake smiled widely as he followed Kayla to the door.

"Hi." Jake said as he waved his hand rapidly.

Courtney smiled as she walked down the stairs with Max.

"Hey, it's so great to see you both." Courtney said as she stood next to Randy while Jake and Kayla hugged Bob and Elaine's legs.

"Hey sweetie's." Elaine said, bending down to kiss both Jake and Kayla's cheek.

Bob chuckled and ruffled up Jake's hair and bent down to pick up Kayla, setting her on his hip.

"Aw, there's the little one." Elaine said, leaning over and kissing Max's cheek.

"It's good to see you guys, it's been so long." Elaine said.

"Too long." Bob added.

"It really has been, we've really missed you both." Courtney said.

"Sooooo much." Kayla said as she hugged Bob again.

Max waved as he sucked on his pacifier.

"You should visit more." Jake said.

"We did too." Elaine said with a wide smile. "And we'll try to."

"We really will." Bob said, setting Kayla down after hugging Kayla back and following Randy inside. "Burn the house down yet?"

"No sir." Randy chuckled.

Jake ran after Bob and Randy outside to the grill.

"Grandma want to see the butterfly I drew yesterday?" Kayla asked.

Max started to squirm around in Courtney's arms so she put him down and watched him walk over to Elaine.

"Hey bud." Bob chuckled, seeing Jake behind them.

Randy smiled and went back to working on the grill.


"Of course I want to see it." Elaine said bending down to pick up Max.

"Hey." Jake said as he watched Randy work on the grill.

Kayla ran into the kitchen then grabbed the picture she had on the fridge. She ran back to Elaine then held it up with a proud smile.

"She's been drawing like crazy recently, it keeps her busy when we're on the road." Courtney said.

Randy picked up Jake as he let Bob take over the grill.

Bob shook his head and fired up the grill, faster than Randy.

"That's beautiful, sweetie. Do you have anymore?" Elaine asked. "She's really good."

"Grandpa is a better at grilling then you dad." Jake said.

"Yeah." Kayla said with a smile before she went up to her room.

"She is. She gives them to Randy before he goes if she can't come with him so she makes it her goal to make sure they're perfect." Courtney said.

"Yeah he is." Randy said.

"It's a shame your own son knows that." Bob said.

"Aw, that is so sweet of her." Elaine said.

"He's a really good wrestler though. I'm going to be just like him when I grow up." Jake said.

"Yeah. She loves her daddy." Courtney said.

Kayla ran down the stairs with more of the pictures she's drawn and painted then handed them to Elaine.

"We got ourselves a fourth generations Superstar." Bob said, smiling proudly.

"Sure did, raising him well." Randy said.

"I can tell, you should put her in an art class. She's really good and it would a lot of fun for her." Elaine said.

"I'm going to kick butt." Jake said before he did Randy's pose.

"That sounds like a great idea, what do you say Kayla?" Courtney asked.

"I love that idea." Kayla said with a smile.

"Of course you will, you're an Orton." Bob said.

"Couldn't have put it any better myself." Randy said.

"Maybe go to the local YMCA or Boys and Girls club, she'd have a great time." Elaine said.

Jake smirked then looked back at the grill.

"When can I have a burger?" Jake asked.

"That sounds like a great idea." Courtney said with a smile.

Max spit out his pacifier then hugged Elaine.

"Grandma." Max said.

"Good job Max." Courtney said with a chuckle as she picked the pacifier up then went to wash it off.

"Once the grill heats up." Bob said.

Randy walked inside to grab the meat from the kitchen.

Elaine nodded and smiled before tickling Max.

Jake nodded before he kicked a rock off the deck.

Max started laughing.

Courtney washed off the pacifier then put it aside before she called Kayla in to help her with the potato salad.

Kayla ran into the kitchen then stood on a chair at the counter.

"Why don't you go swimming, Jake?" Randy asked.

"What can I do Court?" Elaine asked.

"Okay." Jake said before he ran inside to change into his swimming trunks.

"Could you open the baked beans and put them in a pot?" Courtney asked.

Randy brought the meat out and handed it to Bob.

Elaine walked into the kitchen and grabbed the baked beans.

Jake ran back outside a few minutes later then jumped into the pool.

"Mommy, can I swim too?" Kayla asked.

"Sure sweetie." Courtney said.

Kayla smiled then ran upstairs.

Max started squirming around in Elaine's arms.

Bob started to put the meat on the grill.

Elaine set Max down in his playpen before walking back into the kitchen and opening up the beans.

Kayla ran downstairs and out the back door after changing. She then jumped in the pool.

Jake looked at Kayla then smacked her on the head lightly with a noodle.

Kayla looked at Jake then grabbed a noodle and smacked him lightly on the head back.

Courtney put the potatoes she cooked in a large bowl before she put in mayo.

Randy chuckled as he kept an eye on the kids.

Elaine opened the beans and poured them into a pot.
