Courtney nodded then kissed Randy on the cheek.

"Kayla come eat." Courtney said as she walked back into the kitchen.

"Okay mommy." Kayla said as she followed Courtney into the kitchen then walked to the table.

"You want anything Randy?" Courtney asked.

"Uh, I'll take a sandwich as well." Randy replied.

"Okay." Courtney said as she started making Randy a sandwich.

"So are you going to tell mommy to stop eating so much of the ice cream?" Kayla asked as she ate.

Courtney grinned in amusement.

"What?" Courtney asked as she looked at Kayla then Randy.

"She thinks that's why you're stomach is round." Randy said.

Courtney chuckled as she handed Randy his sandwich on a plate when she was done making it.

"Well that may have something to do with a little extra pounds but there's another reason my stomach is round Kayla." Courtney said.

"What?" Kayla asked.

"Thanks, Court." Randy said, taking the plate. "Uh...you're mommy is going to have a baby."

"A baby?" Kayla asked.

"Mhm, in six months you're going to be a big sister." Courtney said with a smile.

"Yay!" Kayla exclaimed before she got up from her chair and ran over to Courtney.

Courtney chuckled then bent down and hugged Kayla.

"How did the baby get in your belly?" Kayla asked.

"Uhhh.." Randy said, scratching the back of his head as he looked at Courtney, not sure how to reply.

"Um...you see Kayla when mommys and daddys are ready to have a baby they call the stork and the stork touchs the mommy's tummy and then the baby starts growing inside." Courtney said.

"Cool! The stork sounds cool." Kayla said.

"He's very cool." Courtney said as she winked at Randy.

"The baby just can't take all of the attention." Kayla said.

"Sweetie you know when the baby comes you're going to share the attention with him." Courtney said.

"What?! Why?!" Kayla yelled.

"Cause we still have to look after the baby as well. We won't love you any less, but there's going to be times where the baby is going to need us a bit more and we have to attend to that." Randy said.

Kayla frowned.

"I changed my mind, the stork can take the baby back now." Kayla said.

"Kayla that's not happening." Courtney said.

Kayla glared then got off her seat and stormed out of the kitchen.

"I was hoping the excitement she had at the wedding over a new baby would have continued for more than a few minutes." Courtney said with a sigh.

"I hope so too. I'm really going to hate her yelling all the time if she doesn't warm up to the idea of the new baby." Courtney said.

Courtney sighed then saw Kayla walk back into the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie." Courtney said.

Kayla didn't say anything as she got up on her chair and grabbed the sandwich she left on the table.

"Kayla honey I know you are still bitter over the baby but could you please for your daddy and I give the baby a chance? You shouldn't hate your new brother or sister because I'm sure it loves you very very much." Courtney said.

"It does?" Kayla asked.

Kayla stared at Randy and Courtney as she thought about it.

"Hm...I'll think about it." Kayla said.

Courtney ran a hand through her hair, figuring that was as far as Kayla would go about the idea of liking the new baby for now.

"Alright fine, we'll give you some time to think it over." Courtney said.

"Fine." Kayla said.

"Thank you sweetheart." Courtney said with a small smile.

"How does the baby fit in your belly?" Kayla asked.

Courtney got up and went upstairs to her and Randy's room. She grabbed a photography book then walked back downstairs and into the kitchen. After sitting down she opened up to a page and pointed at an ultrasound picture.

"My belly gets bigger as the baby grows, that's what it looks like now." Courtney said.

"That's tiny." Kayla said.

"Yeah, it grows slowly over time and when it can't fit in mommy's tummy anymore, it comes out." Randy said.

"Oh...can daddy have a baby in his belly too?" Kayla asked.
