The Beginning Of Trouble

Courtney got out of her limo wearing this and started walking towards the entrance. Tonight was the Billboard Music Awards and she was excited for it. Even though she wasn't nominated for any awards she was going to make small cameos on stage. She was going to perform S&M with Rihanna and Till The World Ends with Nicki Minaj. Courtney was shown her seat then she stood in shock when she noticed Justin sitting on the seat next to her. She gulped then sat down on her seat, trying to act like he wasn't there. After what happened last time they were together she felt really awkward.

Justin was in his seat, talking to the person beside him. He looked over when the seat beside him was filled and smiled a bit. He noticed Courtney was acting a bit funny, but he was glad to see her.

"You look great as always, Courtney. Good to see you again." He said warmly.

Courtney looked over at Justin then smiled a little bit.

"Thanks, you look great too and it's um...good to see you again too." Courtney said.

"How have you been?" Justin asked.

"Good, Randy and I worked things out. How are you?" Courtney asked.

"I've been good, just busy with a lot of work." Justin said.

"Do you have anything coming out soon?" Courtney asked.

"I was just on SNL this past weekend." Justin replied.

"Oh, that's really cool, congratulations! Did you have fun?" Courtney asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I had a great time. I love being on SNL, it's always a blast." Justin replied.

"It is. They have a very funny cast, I'll have to look up the episode you were in and watch it." Courtney said.

"You'll enjoy it, Lula Melei was in the episode as well."

"Cool. How's your music doing? Got an album coming out any time soon?" Courtney asked.

"No, not really. I'm always working on a little something, but I've been doing a lot of acting." Justin replied.

"Oh...well I'm happy you're having fun with what you're doing." Courtney said with a smile.

She still felt a little awkward around Justin but she wasn't going to be rude by not being happy for him and his success.

"Thanks, I heard your album was doing really well and that you're going on tour soon." He said.

"Yep, the United States tour starts in June and ends in August then the European one starts in September." Courtney said.

"Oh wow, congrats. You're going to have a busy summer." Justin said.

"Yeah I am but I'm really going to miss my husband and kids." Courtney said.

"Well that's normal." Justin said.

"Yeah..." Courtney said before she sighed.

"I'm sorry if I seem stand-offish. It's just with how things ended with us it feels sort of awkward." Courtney said.

"It's fine, I understand. Though there's no reason to feel awkward about it." Justin said.

Courtney nodded.

"I just don't want there to be any hard feelings. I had to do what was right for my marriage even if it meant cutting you out of my life for a bit." Courtney said.

"I understand, no hard feelings at all." Justin said.

"Great, I'm glad. Maybe one day we could make a song together." Courtney said with a smile.
