Wondering What If

"Thanks for letting me come over, I appreciate it." Elle said, giving her a smile as she walked into the house.

"You're welcome, it's not a problem at all." Courtney as she closed the door once Elle was inside.

"What's going on? You sounded really serious on the phone."

"I've been a bit...sick lately and well...I think..I think I might be pregnant." Elle said.

Courtney's eyes widened and was speechless for a second, she didn't expect Elle to come to her for something like that.

"Wow...are you sure?" Courtney asked.

Elle nodded. "I haven't taken a test yet, but I've been really sick and tired lately."

Courtney nodded, those were the same symptoms she had when she found out she was pregnant herself.

"You should take a test, you have one?" Courtney asked.

(I'm going to bed, good night!)

Elle nodded, pulling the test out of her purse. "Bought one on the way over here."

"Alright, I'm sure you remember where the bathroom is so go ahead and take it. I'll wait out here for you." Courtney said.

Elle nodded, standing up "I'll be out in a bit." She said before taking the test out and walking to the bathroom. She went inside and pulled out the test, using it. She came out with the test a bit later and looked at Courtney. "It should tell me soon, I'm nervous. Is that bad?"

Courtney shook her head as she gave Elle a reassuring smile.

"Not at all. I was nervous too when I found out I was pregnant, what you're feeling is normal." Courtney said.

"Just can't believe it, if I am. I've wanted a baby for so long." Elle said.

"I hope you have this chance to become a mom, trust me it's the greatest blessing you could ever recieve." Courtney said with a smile.

"I really hope so. I'm afraid to look." Elle nervously said.

"I can look for you then tell you the results if it's easier." Courtney offered.

"If you don't think it's weird." She said, handing over the test.

"It's up to you. I don't have to do this if it's too weird for you." Courtney said with a small chuckle.

"No, no, go ahead." Elle said.

Courtney nodded then looked at the test before looking back up at Elle.

"You're...pregnant." Courtney said, waiting for Elle's reaction before reacting herself.

Elle covered her mouth in shock and her eyes teared up a little. "Oh my God...I can't believe it..." She said, her voice low.

Courtney put the test down.

"Are you happy? I know it wasn't planned but really having Kayla has been nothing but an amazing experience. I love being a mom and I'm sure you'll be a great mother to your baby." Courtney said.

"I'm all over the place. It's really something I've wanted for so long, I just hope it all goes well. Cause the last time I lost the baby the last time, I'm happy but a bit nervous." Elle said.

Courtney sighed then hugged Elle.

"Just try to relax, getting worked up over it and getting stressed is only going to do more harm than good. I know it's difficult considering what happened before but just try to be happy you have a second chance and hope for the best." Courtney said.

Elle smiled a little and returned the hug. "Yeah, you're right. Just over thinking everything. I really am happy though. It's so unplanned, but it's just a good a surprise that I don't even care."

"It's the best surprise a person could ever get in my opinion. You and John are going to be great parents but if you need the practice before your little one comes I'm more than willing to loan you my baby for a night." Courtney said with a chuckle.

"Can't wait to tell John." Elle smiled before she chuckled. "We'll keep that in mind, thanks for the offer."
