Babysitting Time (Cody/Jenna/Hailey)

Jenna smiled as she dressed for work, watching Hailey coloring in her Cinderella coloring book. Hailey had been running a slight fever that morning but Jenna had promised to work the night shift on the trauma unit that night and she had no way out. Thankfully Cody had agreed to babysit Hailey for her.

Cody knocked on the door and waited outside.

Jenna smiled when she opened the door.

"Hey." Cody said.

"Thanks again for doing this," Jenna said.

"You're welcome." Cody said.

"She's been a little sick today," Jenna said.

"What's wrong?" Cody asked.

"She's been running a fever on and off and had some stomach pains, but not much," Jenna said. "Just keep an eye on it, make sure the fever doesn't get to high, if it does bring her in to the h-o-s-p-i-t-a-l."

"Okay, got it." Cody said.

"I've been keeping a log by her bed of what her temperature has been over the last few hours," Jenna said.

"Uh, okay." Cody said a bit confused.

"Just so you can tell if it takes a major spike," Jenna said.

"Okay." Cody said, nodding his head.

"I've gotta go now," Jenna whispered. "She might be a little upset for a while."

"Alright. See you later." Cody said.

Jenna tried to get out the door quickly, but Hailey looked up seconds before she left.

"Mommy," Hailey whimpered.

"She'll be back soon." Cody said.

"Pick her up," Jenna mouthed at the doorway.

"Mommy don't go," Hailey pleaded.

Cody went over and picked up Hailey.

Hailey rested her head on Cody's shoulder.

Randy lightly rubbed Hailey's back.

"Make her stay," Hailey sniffled.

"She has to work." Cody said.

"Don't want her to go," Hailey said.
