Coming Back Home (John/Elle)

"Yeah. I just dont want anyone to hate her."

Elle nods her head.

"I admit that what happened between Riley and I was my fault and I shouldnt have taken it out on you." He says

"It's just frustrating John. I know she's your best friend, but sometimes I feel like she's more important to you than I am." Elle says.

"She not. You are the most important thing to me." He says

"It doesn't feel that way sometimes."

"I know and I'm sorry...That is why I'm going to make it up to you."

"How?" Elle asks.

"I dont know."

"Just forget it John, it's fine." Elle says.

"Elle I was going to wait, but now you have taken the fun out of it." He says getting an enevolpe and handing it to her

Elle takes the envelope and opens it.

"That was for us to get away. Just me you and Anthony." He says

"Sorry for ruining the surprise." Elle says.

"Its okay." He says

"Thank you though."

"Your welcome. Why didnt you tell me about your dad?" He asked

Elle shrugs her shoulders.

"It was a really dark period of my life and I just don't like people knowing that I was weak like that." Elle says.

"Babe, I understand that, but you have to tell me things so I can understand." He says

"What do you want to know about it?"

"Everything."

Elle sighs.

"My mother was an alcoholic and a drug addict for most of my life and my step-dad beat the crap out of her almost every night. So I grew up around violence and being told I was going to be nothing. My real dad was in and out of my life for the most part because he was in and out of jail for short periods, but I loved him. He always told me that everything was going to be alright and that he'll get me out of here when the he can afford and when he got his act together." Elle says.

"That obviously never happened, but I believed him because, beside's the Orton's, he was the only other person in this world that truly cared about me. Sure he wasn't always there but he always made the effort to make sure that I okay. When I was ten he got killed in a car crash and I was devastated, he had been out of jail for about a year at that point and things were really starting to turn around and when he died I was left with nothing, everything that he promised me went away the day he died."

John couldnt say anything he just pulled her to him and hugged her

"Now do you understand why I was so reluctant to take you back?"

"Yeah." He says "I'm so sorry Elle."
