Mixed Emotions (John/Elle)

Elle continues to cry.

John gets up when he sees her outside. He puts on his hoodie and walks out there just to see that she was crying. He sits down next to her and pulls her into a hug

Elle moves, so that she's sitting on John's lap as she cries into his chest.

John holds her tightly rubbing her back letting her cry

Elle continues to cry.

John starts to rub her back

Elle sniffles as she calms down a little.

John continues to hold her close to him

"She's really gone." Elle says softly.

"Yeah babe." John says rubbing her back

"Maybe if I would've talked to her more, she would still be alive and she wouldn't have went back to using again." She says.

"Elle this isnt your fault. You dont know that she would have not issued even if you talked to her." John says

"It is my fault. All I had to do was pick up the damn phone when she called and believed her when I heard that she was sober and then she wouldn't be dead right now." She says.

John nodded not knowing what to say

"See? It is my fault, I'm a horrible person." She says.

"Elle no your not. If anyone out here is a horrible person its me for not making you talk to her." John says

"It wasn't your job to do that, it was mine." Elle says.

"Yeah, but I could have helped push you if you needed that push Elle. None of this is your fault."

Elle shakes her head, pulling away from John.

"It is my fault, my mom is dead because of me." She says.

John sighs

"Blame yourself all you want Elle, but when you are ready to talk to me without blaming yourself you know where I'm at." He says getting up and walking back into the room

Elle sits back down in the chair.

John goes back to the bed and lays down watching tv

Elle curls up in the chair.

John continues to watch the tv

Elle just sits there.
