Looking Back (Randy/Courtney)

"Me too." Courtney said as she took Kayla in her arms then strapped her into her carrier.

She picked the carrier up then walked down the stairs and into the laundry room. Courtney turned on the dryer then set the carrier on top of it. She yawned and rubbed her eyes as she kept an eye on Kayla before sighing when the baby girl started crying again.

"Come on sweetie go to sleep." Courtney said.

Randy followed Courtney downstairs and leaned against the doorway as he watched. "I have no idea what else to." He sighed.

Courtney picked Kayla up and started rocking her. As Kayla started to calm down she started to sing to her. She smiled as she continued singing when she saw Kayla's eyes close. When the song was over Kayla was fast asleep.

"Finally." Courtney whispered with a small chuckle.

"Thank goodness." Randy mouthed before he started to head upstairs.

Courtney walked upstairs then walked into Kayla's room. She lied her down gently in her bassinet before she slowly walked out of the room. Courtney smiled when Kayla continued sleeping.

"Think she's down for good?" Randy asked Courtney lowly.

"I hope so, at least for the rest of the night." Courtney said as she took Randy's hand and walked back to their room.

Randy nodded with a yawn as he followed Courtney into the room.

Courtney walked into their room then lied down on the bed.

"Kayla please let us sleep for a few more hours." Courtney said with a small chuckle.

"I'd love to be able to sleep for like five hours." Randy said, laying down on the bed.

"Me too. Is it bizarre that I sort of don't mind waking up like this every night? I'm really happy to have our little girl finally home." Courtney said.

"I don't mind it...I guess. I mean I am glad she's home and healthy, but hell..I'm tired." He chuckled.

"I am too, guess this is what happens when you become a parent." Courtney said as she cuddled up to Randy.

"Yeah, you're right." Randy said, his arm going Courtney.

Courtney nodded before she fell asleep.

A couple hours later Courtney heard Kayla start to fuss through the baby monitor. She got out of the bed slowly, trying not to wake Randy up, and turned off the monitor before walking out of the room. Courtney made her way to Kayla's room then picked the little girl up. She rocked her in her arms and smiled when Kayla calmed down. She didn't feel like walking back to her and Randy's room so she sat back in a recliner. After putting her feet up Courtney lied Kayla on her chest and watched her go to sleep before falling asleep herself.

Randy was passed out, not even hearing the Kayla fuss. Which probably wasn't a good thing if you thought about it, but Courtney got out of bed so quickly and quietly, it would've been hard to realize what was going on. He was in that heavy type of sleep, completely exhausted.

The next morning Courtney felt the sun shine on her in the room and moaned softly. She looked at Kayla and kissed her head softly, happy over the fact that she was still sleeping then tried to get another hour of rest.

The sun woke Randy up and he groaned. He moved over and noticed Courtney wasn't by him. He woke up and got out of the bed. He walked out of the room and went to check on Kayla, noticing Courtney was in there.

Kayla ended up waking up not to long after Randy showed up at the door. She moaned softly then noticed Randy and stared at him.

Randy saw Kayla had woke up and walked over, gently taking her away from Courtney.

Kayla saw Randy's hand then wrapped her hand around one of his fingers.

Randy smiled at Kayla and walked out of the room, going downstairs to make Kayla something to eat.

As if on cue Kayla then started crying.

Upstairs Courtney moaned when she heard a loud cry then opened her eyes and didn't see Kayla with her.

"Kayla?" Courtney asked as she looked around.

"Ssshh.." Randy said, rocking Kayla and rubbing her back.

Kayla started crying a bit louder.

Courtney heard the cries then went downstairs and into the kitchen. She saw Kayla with Randy and let out a sigh of relief.

"I had no idea where she was, I was about to freak out." Courtney said.
