Welcome To Therapy (Jonathan/Cass)

Jonathan sat in this office waiting for his newest patient. She was looking for psychiatric help after drug abuse. Jonathan had personally chosen this case because of whom the patient was: Ms. Cassandra Hardy. He heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." he said.

Cassandra had been directed to the room she was going to be treated in and was walking down the hall. All she wanted was to get better and to see her kids again. She found the room and knocked on the door.
The voice sent shock waves through her brain and chills down her spine. She cautiously opened the door hoping her mind had played a cruel trick on her. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw who it was: Dr Jonathan Sutton. Her ex-lover.

Jonathan smirked a little when he saw her reaction.
"Good morning Cassandra....please have a seat." Jonathan pointed to the chair in front of his desk. He pressed his glasses further onto his nose.
"Now, let's see....drug problems, now I wonder whos fault that is." Jonathan said in his accusing voice.

Cassandra sat down on the chair and crossed her arms.
"Good morning....Jonathan." she said with a raised eye brow. Oh how she detested Jonathan. After everything he had done to her and Jeff she couldn't believe she was paying for therapy sessions with him.
"If you're gonna lay blame on Jeff then I'm walking out right now." Cass snapped before getting out of the chair.

"No- please sit back down." Jonathan said.

Cassandra slowly sat back down. She noticed Jonathan staring at her. No words were being said.
"Please stop staring at me, it's making me uncomfortable." Cass asked quietly.

Jonathan smiled as Cass sat back down. He took the time to examine her, his eyes scanning her body. He smirked at her request.
"Never used to make you uncomfortable."

"Well it does now." Cass began "I'm here for therapy...not for a catch up on how you tried to split me and Jeff up.....I'll make it clear now, you're my doctor and I'm your patient....strictly professional."

"Of course...." Jonathan closed the file and looked back up at Cass, removing his glasses as he did "Just before we go into the professional stuff, you're still as beautiful as the day we met....now please move over to the couch." he finished with a little smirk before getting out of his chair.

Cass narrowed her eyes before following him over to the couch. She lay down on the soft leather and stared at the ceiling. Jonathan sat in the chair next to her with a note pad and pen.

Jonathan pushed his glasses back onto his nose and looked at Cass.
"Now...what have you been feeling since your overdose....how has it effected you?" he asked after taking in the sight of her body again.

"I feel....on edge...everything is....different....i feel awake...too awake." Cass explained "It's like and overdose of caffeine....then it hurts.....it feels sharp....and violent and I...I wanna hurt....myself until it stops."

"And why have you chosen to get help now? My notes say this has been going on for 3-4 months now." Jonathan asked.

"My father doesn't trust us with the kids...he thinks we're unsafe...untrustworthy....but I promise I'm not....I'm a good girl....honestly."

"Well Cassandra from everything you've told me...you don't seem like a good girl at all....do you?" Jonathan smirked.

"That's why I'm here....I wanna be a good girl again..." Cass stopped when she realized what she was was saying "Sorry...it's the...it's the drugs I'm still messed up."

"It's no problem at all...brings back memories." Jonathan smirked.

"I don't want it to bring back memories." Cass said.

"Too late...so you mentioned sharp pain....suicidal thoughts?"

"Yes...the pain just gets too much sometimes...I ended up in hospital last month." Cass showed Jonathan her bandaged wrists.

"Talk to me about that."

"It hadn't been that bad before...my sister found me in the house in the kitchen....I was sitting in a pool of blood with empty pill and vodka bottles on the floor....I was laughing....laughing at my own pain...."

"It seems to me...your condition is worse than you think....suicidal thoughts and actions, it's a good thing you chose to seek help sooner rather than later." Jonathan took off his glasses again.
"I'm going to prescribe you these," Jonathan held up a small bottle "they're designed to keep you calm and your head clear...my only issue with giving you these is the risk of overdose...so you will only be able to have these during therapy sessions with me."

Cassandra nodded in complete understanding. He was smart, but she still hated him. She looked at her watch.
"The session is almost over."

"Well in that case, take one now," Jonathan passed Cassandra one of the pills and a glass of water "and I'll see you the same time tomorrow." he smiled.
