Cena Family Dinner

John got out of his car then opened the door for Elle before he opened the backseat door for the kids. It's been a while since they all have visited John's parents so when a day off came they decided it would be nice to visit and have a family dinner. He was parked in the driveway of his dad's house and he could smell food that his mom was making from outside the house. He always knew his mom cooked a lot when it came to family dinners and everything always tasted amazing. A smile crept onto his face as he took Savannah in his arms.

"Everyone ready to see grandma and grandpa?" John asked.

He missed seeing his family when he was traveling so he was in a great mood now that he could spend a whole day with them.

Anthony hopped out of the backseat and ran to the door, beginning to knock on the door like crazy.

"Up." Savannah said, raising her arms so that John could take her.

Elle smiled as he got out and took Cameron out of his seat.

John chuckled at Anthony then turned his attention to Savannah and picked her up. He walked to the door as his mother Carol opened the door.

"It's so great to see you all." Carol said with a smile as she pinched John's cheek then hugged him.

"Hey mom." John said with a smile.

Carol looked at Savannah and Anthony.

"You both are getting so big, it's so great to see you two. Where's Elle and Cameron?" Carol asked as she hugged Savannah then hugged Anthony.

"Grammie." Savannah said with a wide smile.

Anthony hugged Carol back.

"I missed you." He said.

"We're here." Elle said, coming over with Cameron in her arms. He was still waking up and rubbed his eyes as he yawned. "Long trip, he's still coming out of it."

"I missed you too sweetheart." Carol said as she kissed Anthony on his cheek.

She gave Savannah a kiss on her cheek as well before she stepped aside so everyone could come in. When John walked into the house Carol looked at Elle and smiled.

"Aw well it's great to see you both. It's been way too long." Carol said.

John Sr. looked over from his spot on the couch then stood up.

"There they are, hey you guys." John Sr. said with a smile.

"Hey Dad." John said with a smile.

"It has." Elle said, hugging Carol once she walked inside.

Cameron yawned again, before giving Carol a smiled and a wave.

"Grandpa!" Savannah exclaimed, squirming in John's arms to get down.

Anthony ran over and hugged John Sr's leg.

"Hey John." Elle said.

Carol hugged Elle back then smiled at Cameron.

"Hey sweetie." Carol said.

John chuckled then put Savannah down.

John. Sr chuckled then hugged Anthony back before he looked at Elle.

"Hey, you look more beautiful everytime I see you." John Sr. said.

"Hi." Cameron said softly, reaching for Carol. Elle smiled and handed Cameron to Anthony.

Savannah ran over to John Sr. and hugged his leg.

"And you're just as charming as your son." Elle chuckled, kissing Bob on the cheek. "Need any help with anything Carol?" She asked.

Carol took Cameron in her arms then rubbed his back and kissed him on his head.

John Sr. smiled at Savannah then picked her up and hugged her.

"Thank you." John. Sr. said with a chuckle before he tickled Savannah a bit.

"I could use someone to mash the potatoes." Carol said as she walked into the kitchen,

Cameron smiled and laid his head on her shoulder.

Savannah smiled as she giggled.

Anthony walked over to John and tugged on his pants.

"Sure I can do that." Elle said, walking to the kitchen.

"Thank you sweetie." Carol said as she checked on the chicken in the stove.

John bent down to Anthony's level.

"What is it?" John asked.

"Want me to lay Cameron down?" Elle asked.

"Come outside with me." Anthony said.

"If you want to, he looks like he could use a nap." Carol said.

"Okay." John said as he walked to the door.

Elle took Cameron from Carol and went into the living room. She laid him down on the couch so that he could rest.

Anthony grabbed his football out of his bag and ran outside.

Carol took some rolls and started to put them in a basket.

John looked at Anthony and chuckled.

"Want to throw the ball around?" John asked.

"Yup." Anthony said, tossing John the football.

Elle walked back into the kitchen and began to mash the potatoes.

"So, how have you been Carol?" Elle asked

John caught the ball then tossed it back to Anthony.

"I've been pretty good, how about yourself?" Carol asked.

Anthony jumped to catch the ball, but missed and ran to go get it.

"Same. Just work and trying to spend time wit the kids." Elle said.

John watched Anthony carefully as he waited.

"How is work?" Carol asked.

Anthony grabbed the ball and threw it back at John.

"It's good, just been really busy." Elle said.

John caught it then threw it back.

"You're getting pretty good at football." John said.

"I've heard that you had a couple famous clients, I'm so proud of you." Carol said with a smile.

"Thanks. Can't wait for season to start." Anthony said.

"Thanks. It's a lot to handle at times, you know?" Elle said.

"You're welcome. I can't wait to watch your games." John said.

"Yeah I know sweetheart but if you need help I'm always here to do whatever I can. Maybe John's father and I could watch the kids for you when you need time to work or to have some time to yourself." Carol said.

"You're really gonna come?" Anthony asked.

"Are you sure? I don't want to bother you two." Elle said.

"Of course and if I'm traveling I'm going to have your mom tape every single one so I can watch them." John said.

"I'm very sure, you wouldn't be a bother at all." Carol said.
