Nine Months, Twice Over (John)

(About Six Years Ago)

Elle nervously cooked dinner in the kitchen as she waited for John to get back home from the road. She had told Courtney when they were backstage at one of the shows that she was pregnant but she couldn't come up with the nerves to tell John when they were together that she was pregnant with their first child.

She kept an eye on the food as she glanced up at the time on the microwave to see when John should walk through the doors. The closer the time got, the more her nerves got the best of her. She tried to keep her attention on the lasagna that was cooking in the oven and the vegetables that she was cutting for the salad, but her mind continued to wonder.

(Had to guess with the time, I'm thinking Anthony should be about six and the twins are like..three?)

John turned off the car once he was in the driveway of his and Elle's home. He got out of the car and popped open the trunk door before he grabbed his luggage out of it. He closed the door and locked his car before he made his way up to the door. John opened the door and walked inside then put his bags down on the floor. He smiled when he smelled dinner being made and walked into the kitchen. When he spotted Elle by the counter he quietly walked up behind her and put his arms around her waist.

"Hey sweetheart." John said.

(Sounds about right)

"Hey honey." Elle said, smiled a bit as she continued to cut the vegetables. She craned her neck upward as she reached up and kissed his cheek.

John's smile widened.

"Everything smells good, what's for dinner?" John asked.

"Lasagna and salad." Elle replied. "How was work?"

"Sounds good and work was good. Didn't get injured so that's always a plus." John said with a chuckle.

"That's good to hear, though I don't mind you being home a bit more." She said.

"And you know since I get to come home to you I wouldn't mind time off." John said.

"The house gets lonely without you." Elle said.

John sighed.

"I'm sorry you're feeling lonely. Maybe I can get some time off and take a break from the ring." John said.

Elle bit her lip as she put the vegetables into a bowl. "Uh...yeah...you may need to be home a bit more." She said.

"Alright then." John said as he kissed Elle on her cheek.

"I'll be home more, all you had to do was say the word." John said.

"No, not just because of that, because of..." Elle began to say about to tell him but she chickened out. "..of..uh...well, that's all I can come up with, I want to keep you all to myself." She said, chuckling a bit nervously as she covered for herself.

John chuckled before he started kissing Elle's neck.

"I knew you couldn't get enough of me." John said.

Elle moaned softly backing up against the counter as her head tilted back a bit. "Baby...dinner..." She said.

John pulled his lips away from Elle and grinned.

"Sorry, I can't resist you either." John said.

Elle raised up and pecked him on the lips. "Go sit, I'll fix you a plate." She said.

"Alright, thanks sweetie." John said as he grabbed a beer from the fridge then sat down.

"Welcome." Elle said with a smile. She let out a sigh when John walked away.

"Come on, Elle...you can do this." She muttered to herself as she fixed John's plate. She made two plates and walked over to the table, setting them down. She grabbed a glass of water for herself and sat down. "So...we need to talk.."

John took a sip of his beer as he looked up at Elle.

"About what?" John asked.

"I'm...I'm..." Elle said before she looked down. "...I'm pregnant." She said softly.

John looked at Elle in shock.

"Pregnant?" John asked.

Elle nodded, still not looking at John. "Yeah...I'm about eight weeks pregnant."

John took a few minutes to allow the news to register with him then thought about it. Him a dad? A smile then appeared on his face before he stood up and hugged Elle.

"I love you so much." John said.

Elle hugged John back, somewhat surprised by his reaction. "You're not mad?"
