It Never Ends

John was nervous as he got dressed for the interview with a news show. He was in formal clothing, suit and tie, as he looked at himself in the mirror. This wasn't going to be an easy day because he knew what the interview was going to be about. He and Elle needed to repair their images after the allegations Cassie made against them. Nothing was worse than being accused of raping another person and John knew he needed to do a lot to get everyone to see he was innocent. They were also accused of neglecting their children which would cause more issues for them if child protection services got involved so that especially needed to get nipped in the bud. He sighed, not able to believe how much trouble has come out of this then turned to his Elle as she got ready.

"You doing okay?" John asked.

Elle's nerves were wrecked. She hadn't been this nervous in years, but all that was going on had her panicking. Cassie's interview did and could a lot a more damage to not only John's career, but hers as well. But most importantly, she would hate it if Cassie's accusations got taken seriously and their kids could possibly get taken away from her.

Fear and nervousness were not a good mix to have with one another and Elle felt a bit sick, having a large pit in her stomach throughout the morning. Just wasn't a good feeling.

She went through her entire closet, trying to find the perfect outfit to wear. She didn't want to look too sexy or slutty, but classy, pretty, and a bit conservative. She wanted to be taken seriously so that their side of the story could be heard. She finally settled on a white dress with nude colored heels, hoping what she had on would be okay.

She got snapped out of her thoughts when she heard John's voice. "Hm...oh..yeah, I'm fine." She said.

John was concerned when he heard Elle's response. What she was saying wasn't matching what he could tell she was really feeling by the look in her eyes.

"You don't have to hide your feelings with me you know, I'm nervous too." John said.

"Just trying to be strong for you, that's all. No need to add my worry on top of yours or for you to worry about me either." Elle said.

"As your husband I'm supposed to be here to support and help you, tell me what you're worried about." John said.

Elle sighed. "Worried about what this could do to you and I'm scared that our babies can be taken away from us."

John nodded then walked over to Elle and hugged her tightly.

"I'm not letting that happen. Can't say I'm not nervous about that too but I'm going to make damn sure nothing happens to our kids, that's my first priority." John said.

(I'm going to bed, good night!)

Elle couldn't help but tear up when John hugged her. She blinked a little and managed to wipe under her eyes to not mess up her make-up. "I'm just scared. It's one thing to threaten you, but our kids John. I don't get how someone can do that. They can be taken away from us like that and we may not be able to do anything."

"Elle you have to trust me, nothing is going to happen to our kids. I promise you they'll be safe and no one is going to take them away from us." John said reassuringly.

He wasn't too sure himself but he wanted to calm down Elle, he'd never seen her so worried and upset before.

"How can you be so sure?" Elle sniffled. "She and all of this can destroy everything that we have and worked so hard for."

"Because I have faith in our ability to make it better, if I didn't I'd be going crazy right now." John said.

Elle nodded, pulling away to go fix her makeup.

"I'm really sorry for starting all of this, I should have trusted you when you had a bad feeling about Cassie." John said.

"I don't blame you, you were just trying to help her out. You're a good person, it's shame she took advantage of that." Elle said.

"It is but it taught me a good lesson. If I'm going to allow someone to be with my family in anyway I'm checking them out completely beforehand." John said.

Elle nodded. "I just want to get this all sorted out so that we can move on with our lives."

"Me too. I'm done dealing with all this drama she started." John said.

"Same here." Elle nodded. "Just want to move on for good and expose her for the fake that she is."

John nodded then looked a his watch.

"We better leave now, don't want to be late." John said as he grabbed his keys.

Elle nodded, grabbing her purse and walking downstairs before going outside.

John followed Elle downstairs then outside to the car. He unlocked the doors then opened the passenger side door for Elle.

"Thanks." Elle said softly, getting into the car and putting on her seatbelt.

"You're welcome sweetheart." John said, closing the door then getting into the car on the driver's side.

Elle smiled a little at John and turned her head to look out the window.

John couldn't help but smile back at Elle as he started driving to where the interview was taking place.
