It Never Ends

"Love our lives, but I hate being away from my family and not having us all together sometimes." Elle said.

"Me too but that's the price you may sometimes when you follow your dreams." John said.

Elle nodded. "Yeah...I guess..hope that comes across in the interview."

"I hope so too. I'd hate for people to take it the wrong way and believe what Cassie was claiming." John said.

"Same here, don't know what I'd do if that happened." Elle sighed.

"I don't know what else we'd be able to do. It would be a huge mess and I don't know if that were to happen if we'd be able to get out of it." John said, doubting themselves heavily at this point.

Elle sighed. "Sorry to bring it all up again."

"It's okay. It's not like we can forget about it, the video still has to air on tv and we don't know how people are going to take it. We were honest and nothing we said was bad so all I can hope for once it airs is that all the drama goes away." John said.

Elle nodded her head a little. "It'll all turn out good. We're good people, the truth will make it's way through to people."

John nodded then smiled a little at Elle, starting to feel a bit better.

"Okay, I believe you." John said.

"Good, I'm glad." Elle smiled, patting John's stomach.

John chuckled.

"You always know how to get me to stop worrying about things." John said.

"Really? I try, I don't want you stressing over anything." Elle said

"Yeah, you always know the right thing to say and I love you for that." John said with a smile.

"It's what I need to do to support you, I love you too." Elle grinned.

John leaned over and kissed Elle then pulled away from her a few moments later when he heard his phone go off. He groaned.

"I hate work sometimes." John said.

Elle smiled when John kissed, but couldn't fight the sigh/groan that sounded from her when his phone went off. "Sure you have to get that?" She asked, glancing over it. She knew the answer to the question, but couldn't help but pout.

"Sorry babe, it's kind of...important." John said, frowning in confusion at the text he received.

It was from Vince, telling him to turn on the news. He did just that and when it was on John's eyes widened. "Rapist", "Neglectful", "Terrible Parents" to list a few were the headlines on the news station and others. Their interview went wrong, that's for sure.

Elle studied John's face and looked at him her expressions going from confusion to worry. He didn't seem happy at all.

John then slowly grabbed the remote and turned on the tv, not believing what was going on until the tv was on. He was in total shock. How the hell could this have happened?

Elle raised an eyebrow and her focus then went to the television. Her eyes widened at what she saw. She couldn't believe it, she opened her mouth to speak, but no words come out.

John swallowed hard, not knowing what to do or what to say. For once in his life he was completely speechless. His phone started ringing again but he didn't other with it, he just sat there frozen with fear.

Elle's eyes were still on the television, as much as she wanted to turn away from what was appearing on the screen, she couldn't. This had to be dream, she wanted it to be a dream, but sadly it was not. She couldn't believe it.

She swallowed hard, having no idea how words managed to escape her mouth when she opened it again. "What are we going to do, John?" She asked, her voice actually trembled when she spoke.

What Elle had asked him didn't seem to register at first with him. It was like his mind just wasn't working. Everything inside him that was slowly crumbling before felt like it was all just a pile of dust now. Every bit of doubt he had was fully setting in and he didn't know what to do. John felt like he totally let his family down and there was nothing he could do about it. Tears started to well up in his eyes and even though he wasn't much of a crier he couldn't help but tear up. He slowly looked at Elle, his face completely washed out then got up off the bed and walked out of the room.

It was only then that the sadness he was feeling turned into anger. He ran his hands over his head as frustration set in then glared at a wall. His anger continued building until he punched a hole into the wall.

Having been with John for so long and knowing him so well, Elle was able to read John easily when she finally turned her head to look at him. His emotions were clear to read due to his expressions. Her heart couldn't help but break for John and how he was feeling, especially when she saw the tear well up in his eyes. She was about to comfort him, feeling that was all she could do, but he got up and walked away. She sighed, feeling helpless with what to do about the situation and how to help her husband. She didn't even want to fathom right now how this would affect her kids.

She let John walk away, but as soon as she heard the punch in the wall, she quickly got out of the bed. She ran out to the hallway he was in and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "I'm so, so sorry, John. It wasn't supposed to be like this."
