What happened to us? (Skyla)

Jeff just completed a workout and arrived back home. He walked into the house and sat his duffle bag next to the door. Walking further in, he looked around and saw his wife on the couch. Since her injury he’s been worried about her but at the same time the two had been falling apart lately so he still couldn’t help but be angry about that as well. Jeff shrugged as he walked over to her “Hey” he casually said

Skyla had been told she wasn't allowed to work until she was given the all clear by her doctors which she hated. She had been sat at home all day bored as hell. She jumped a little as the door slammed shut. Skyla smiled slightly at Jeff.
"Hey...you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm good! You?"

"I've been better....definitely been better." Skyla replied. In her head she knew she meant physically and with the relationship.

"What's wrong?" he asked

"Nothing just....nothing." Skyla cracked a smile.

"Come on, talk to me" he said

"Sweetie honestly I'm fine."

"Fine!" he said quickly giving up "Seriously? What happened to us? It's like you can't even talk to me anymore"

"Don't snap at me! I'm just annoyed I can't go to work and for the record I can't talk to you because you constantly start yelling at me!"

"I snap because you're always so passive. Just speak what's on your mind for once"

"You really wanna know what's on my mind? Seems like everyone wants to know what's on my mind!"

"But, I'm not everyone... I'm your husband! I should know what's going on with you. So I can help you"

"YOU need just as much help as I do!"

"Great!" he sarcastically replied "Now, we're insulting each other"

"We've been doing it for about a month now unless you've forgotten."

"Because you always take it there"

"You make me take it there by constantly asking how I am when I'm fine!"

"I know you! And you clearly aren't fine!"

Skyla took a deep breath and moved closer to Jeff.
"I'm sorry....OK....but I promise you....nothing is wrong with me....at all, and I should stop being so defensive and secretive....you are my husband after all."

"That's all I ask. I don't want to make you more upset, I'm around to make you better if anything" he said "But, I'm glad to here you're okay"

"I know...I know...can I have a hug?"

Jeff pulled her in and wrapped his arms around her waist

"I love you."

"I love you too"
