Making Up and Moving On (Cass)

Lately, things had not been good between Cass and Lucky. Lucky had spilled her guts about Cass sleeping with Jonathon to Jeff, and honestly, how could she not? Jeff deserved to know and Lucky didn't care about what Cass thought. Lucky was moving on from her past and didn't care for the people who didn't give a fuck about her. It may be bitter, but she didn't have room for her haters.

Lucky was going for a walk, not a care in the world until she brushed shoulders with a former friend. Cassie.

Cass had been living pretty much in solitary confinement at her parents home. She hadn't heard of anyone in months, including Jeff despite all the desperate attempts to contact him. She had eventually concluded that she needed to leave the house for more than 5 minutes and the park seemed like a good option.
Sunglasses on, she headed out, all calm and quiet. Until she bumped into Lucky.
"Oh...hi."

"Uh...hi." She said

"Oh...this is awkward..."

"Not really." Lucky shrugged

"For me it is....the last time I saw you I was so horrible to you."

"Not my problem." she said

"Well I'm going to say I'm sorry, whether you accept it is your prerogative."

"Do you really mean it? Because I don't have time to mess around with lies."

"No I really mean it....I've had too many stitches to not mean it." Skye said the last part under her breath...hoping Lucky wouldn't ask what she meant.

Lucky knew what it meant, "I know how you feel. But my abuse has gone on continuously for seven years. It hurt lying to my husband about where a bruise came from. Constant threats that if I notified the police that my family would be hurt. And honestly, I don't want to hear it from you. No offense."

"None taken..." Skye smiled weakly.

Lucky nodded.

"So what's been going on? I think the self confinement to my room has lasted long enough...I have no idea what's going on in the world."

"Not much, really." She shrugged

"Nothing? Kinda expected people to be talking."

"I don't listen to what others have to say anymore. None of them ever listened to me, so why should I listen to them?"

"Hmm I hear you there girl."

"I just can't stand people anymore."

"Hence why I've been refusing to leave the house...the only reason I'm not there now is because mom and dad think it's good for me to get out."

"I'd stay locked in my room too, in fact, I have. Except I have no one to tell me that I should get out."

"Yep that's the thing about parents."

"I am no child to my parents anymore." She sighed

"Aww sweetie....I think mine are getting really fed up of me....Mom thinks I've turned back into a hormonal teenager."

"My parents are just assholes, I didn't ask for the divorce, it was that jackass."
