Making The Deal

Courtney was excited for the meeting she set up for Allie with the executives at the recording studio she was signed to. All she ever wanted for her kids was for them to be happy and follow their dreams so when Allie started expressing her interest in music Courtney supported her one hundred percent. With her eldest daughter, or step-daughter if you want to be technical, graduating soon she thought this would be the perfect time to get Allie signed to a recording deal. After an hour drive from the hotel they were staying at the pair were finally at the RCA Records building.

"You ready?" Courtney asked, looking over at Allie as she turned off the car.

Allie stared out the window as she and Courtney made their way to the recording studio. Yes, she was extremely happy, but she felt as if she was going to choke and die with all of her nervousness. Allie was grateful in order to have an opportunity like the one she has now, but she wasn't sure if they would like her or not.

Allie turned to Courtney with a bright smile, nervousness written all over her face. "Ready as I'll ever be."

"Try not to worry to much about it, everything's going to go great." Courtney said reassuringly as she put her sunglasses on then got out of the car.

Allie took a deep breathe and nodded, "Okay." She smiled a little before grabbing her bag and her sunglasses before joining Courtney out of the car.

Courtney hung her bag on her right shoulder as she walked into the building. Once inside she walked up to the receptionist and let her know they were there for their appointment. When she was told they could go up to the main office Courtney thanked the woman.

"Come on Allie." Courtney said as she walked towards the elevator.

"I'm coming." Allie said as she quickly made her way to the elevator.

Courtney walked into the elevator with Allie when the doors opened then pressed the third floor button.

"I still remember the day I first stepped into this building." Courtney said with a small chuckle.

Allie looked up to the taller blonde and smiled, "Really? How did you feel?"

"I was really nervous but excited as well. I knew it was something I had wanted to do my whole life and I was very passionate about it. Though I never realized that I would be as big as I am in the business." Courtney said with a chuckle.

"Still kind of hard to believe at times."

"There's no reason to not believe it, you're amazing." Allie said with a smile.

"It's not that I don't have confidence in my talent, it's just I've had so much happen for me. If you asked me ten years ago if I'd have such a successful career I wouldn't have known what to tell you." Courtney said with a chuckle.

Allie smiled a little, "Well I hope I have a great career such as yours." She let out a small sigh, "First I need to not chicken out and go into the room."

"That's what I'm here for, to push you in if you get too nervous." Courtney joked with a gentle smile.

Allie looked up at Courtney and chuckled lightly, "Thanks."

"Seriously though you don't need to be scared. They're all really nice and look for the best in their artists. Trust me, I wouldn't be signed to this label if they were running a bad company." Courtney said reassuringly.

Allie nodded and smiled, "Okay." She said softly, "I can do this.." She reassured herself.

Courtney smiled back then exited the elevator and walked towards the office where the meeting would take place. When they were finally there she knocked on the door and kept the smile on her face as a man opened the door.

"Courtney! Good to see you." He said as he gave her a friendly hug.

"Hey Adam, you too. This is my daughter Allie." Courtney said, pulling away from the hug to gesture to the smaller blonde.

"Ah wonderful. Nice to meet you Allie, I'm Adam. I'll be working with you today to get you signed to a deal. Why don't you both come on in so we can get into details." Adam suggested as he stepped aside to let them inside the office.

Allie smiled, "Nice to meet you too Mr. Adam." She nodded before following him into the room.

"Please just call me Adam." Adam said with a smile as he walked over to his desk then took a seat in a large black chair.

Courtney sat down on one of the chairs in front of Adam's desk then gestured for Allie to come over and sit down as well.

"Okay then." Allie said with a small chuckle as she in one ofbthe chairs next to Courtney before smiling at Adam.

"Alright, down to business. First we're going to go to one of the recording studios in the building and have you sing an original song. If I like it I'll then put it away in a file and keep it for later in case you would like to add it to your first album. After that we'll come back here, sign the contract, then schedule some more dates in the future for you to record more songs. Sound good?" Adam asked.

Allie's smiled in shock, "Oh wow..." She said and nodded, "That sounds great, okay!"

"Alright let's go." Adam said as he stood up and walked to the door. "Courtney you're welcome to come with us if you'd like."

"You want me to come Allie?" Courtney asked.

Allie nodded immediately, "Yes!" She said.

Courtney nodded then stood up from her seat and followed them out of the office. When they got to the recording studio she sat down next to Adam.

"Go ahead and jump into the booth Allie." Adam said.
