Christmas Day (Orton's)

"Then why are you so stand offish?" Courtney asked.

"It's just the kids. I thought they'd be excited to all be together and not so wrapped up in the gifts and stuff. When was the last time we all got to spend time together?" Randy said.

"A couple months ago...but honey you have to understand they're just kids. If you were a kid and heard the words no presents what would you do? Though I didn't like Kayla's tantrum over it I don't think holding a grudge over it is going to do any good. We were saying before how the presents would distract the kids from the snow so why don't we not give them the presents until later and after we eat go outside and play in the snow." Courtney said.

"Yeah, you're right." He said with a sigh, running his hands over his hair. "That sounds like a good idea."

Courtney kissed Randy on the cheek and smiled.

"Don't worry about it. They love you to death and always love being near you. If they didn't they wouldn't run up to you the second you walk into the door after traveling and demand to be played with for hours." Courtney said with a chuckle.

"And I can't tell you how many times I get asked the question 'When is daddy coming home' from them especially when Kayla doesn't feel well or Jake and Max want to play basketball or Smackdown vs Raw. They might not show it now because they're excited over the presents and Christmas but trust me they miss you like crazy when you're not with them." Courtney said.

Randy nodded and smiled a bit at what Courtney said.

"You're right, right. I know they love me, just you know how sometimes they know what to do to push my buttons." He said with a slight shrug.

"That's their job." Courtney said with a small laugh as she put the cups of hot chocolate on the table.

Kayla walked over to Randy then hugged his leg.

"I really do love you daddy and I'm sorry for kicking you." Kayla said.

"Yeah Daddy, I'm sorry too." Allie said, after hearing their conversation. "Not for kicking your leg, but for being a smart alec. And for everything else I did this year."

He smiled at both girls before picking up Kayla and sitting her down in a seat.

"Thank you both, it's good to hear. I love you guys as well." He said with a genuine smile.

Kayla smiled then kissed Randy on his cheek before she sat back in her seat.

"I love you too dad." Jake said.

"Love you daddy." Max said.

"And I really really love you." Courtney said with a smile before she sat down on a chair.

"Love you Daddy." Allie said with a grin before kissing his cheek.

"Love you all as well." Randy said, taking a seat.

Allie sat down in an empty seat.

Kayla and Jake started eating as Courtney cut Max's food in smaller pieces for him to eat.

Randy leaned back in his seat a bit and took a sip of the hot chocolate.

"Mommy can I have whipped cream on my hot chocolate?" Jake asked.

"Sure." Courtney said as she got up and walked to the fridge.

"Can I have ice cream on mine?" Kayla asked.

"Mhm." Courtney said as she grabbed the whipped cream and ice cream.

"Ice cream on your hot chocolate?" Randy questioned.

"Yeah, it's really good." Kayla said with a smile.

Courtney put whipped cream over Jake's hot chocolate then put a scoop of ice cream over Kayla's.

"Well that's new." Allie said with a small smile.

"Won't the ice cream melt?" Randy asked.

"Yeah but it's still good." Kayla said.

"She loves ice cream Randy, what do you expect?" Courtney asked with a chuckle.

"Well, I know that. But..never mind." He said, shaking his head with a small chuckle.

Courtney chuckled then kissed Randy on the cheek before she sat back down and started eating.

Randy smiled before taking another sip of his hot chocolate and beginning to eat.

A few minutes later Courtney looked over at Max and saw his face covered in pizza sauce then chuckled. She stood up then wet a paper towel and started to clean his face.

Kayla and Jake finished their food then took their last sips of hot chocolate.

"Can we go outside now?" Jake asked.
