First Day Of School (Randy/Kayla)

"Yay! Now we can go ask mommy about Sarah and her mommy coming over." Kayla said with a smile as she off of her chair and ran to the door.

Randy threw their trash away before he got up and walked out of Subway. He unlocked the doors to the truck.

Kayla got in the car then buckled her seatbelt.

Randy got inside, he put his seat belt on and started up the car before he started driving.

Kayla leaned back in her seat as she looked out the window.

Randy drove back to the house, he arrived there about twenty minutes later.

Kayla grabbed her backpack then the cupcakes and ran up to the door before going into the house.

"Mommy!" Kayla yelled.

Courtney chuckled as she came down the stairs.

"Hey sweetie, did you have a good day?" Courtney asked before she gave Kayla a hug.

"Yeah. Daddy has a question for you." Kayla said.

Randy got out of the truck and locked the doors. He headed into the house, closing the door behind him, before he walked further inside.

"I met an old friend of mine up at Kayla's school and Kayla is friends with their daughter. Is it cool if they come over for dinner?" He asked.

"I don't see why not. It'll be nice to meet her." Courtney said with a smile.

"Daddy's friend makes cupcakes." Kayla said as she handed the box over.

"Ooo these look good." Courtney said as she opened the box and grabbed one.

"I knew her back when I went to high school, she was best friends with Elle, and I used to date her. I had no idea she had came back around here until Kayla was there with her daughter." Randy said.

Courtney's eyebrow raised a bit when she heard the word "date" but decided to forget about it. Randy had annoyed with her before about not trusting him and Sarah was friend's with the woman's daughter so Courtney knew she would just have to be nice and let it go. For all she knew the woman could be really nice so it was unfair for her to judge her in any way.

"Well it sounds like fun, does she have a favorite meal? I'd be happy to make it." Courtney said.

"Lemme think..." He said as he trailed off and smiled a bit to himself as he thought about the times he and Alexa used to hang. "...eh, I'm sure she'll anything, you're a great cook, hun."

"Okay, call her and let her know she can come over at around sixish. Oh and let her know these cupcakes are amazing." Courtney said, walking into the kitchen as she ate a cupcake.

"Yay! Mommy said yes!" Kayla exclaimed.

"Okay, can't wait." Randy said, taking his cell phone out and dialing Alexa's number.

Alexa heard her phone ring and picked it up.

"Hello?" Alexa asked.

"Hey Alexa, it's Randy." He said.

"Oh hey. What did your wife say about Sarah and I coming over?" Alexa asked.

"She said for you to come over and she loved your cupcakes." He said.

Alexa smiled.

"Awesome, I can't wait to come over and I'm glad she liked them." Alexa said.

"I can't wait for you to come over, it'll be great." Randy said.

"I agree, it will. When should I come over?" Alexa asked.

"Around six." Randy said.

"Alright, we'll be there." Alexa said.

"Great, can't wait to see you." Randy said.

"I can't wait to see you either, it's been forever since we've hung out." Alexa said.
