First Day Of School (Randy/Kayla)

"Fine." Kayla muttered before she got off her seat and brought her bowl over to the sink.

Randy finished up the bar and tossed the wrapper in the trash. "Believe me when I say you'll have a great day."

Kayla looked up at Randy then nodded.

"Okay." Kayla said as she walked to the door and grabbed her backpack.

Randy grabbed the keys to the truck and waited by the door for Kayla.

Kayla looked at the door then faked a cough.

"I'm sick." Kayla said.

"No you aren't. C'mon we're leaving." Randy said.

Kayla groaned then walked out the door and to the hummer.

Randy unlocked the doors and helped Kayla inside before he got into the driver's seat and began to drive.

"I'm a big girl daddy, I can get in the car myself." Kayla said.

"The car is huge, you still need help from time to time." He said.

"Okay, if you say so." Kayla said.

Randy nodded as he continued to drive.

Kayla sat back in her seat as she played with the strap on her backpack.

"You're pretty quiet." Randy said.

"I don't want to go to school." Kayla said.

"You'll like it. You'll get to me a bunch of other kids and play." Randy said.

"But it's more time away from you and you're always traveling, I barely get to see you." Kayla said.

"Sweetie, I'll be around. And at least when I'm on the road you'll have some friends to keep you company instead of being bored at home with your brothers when I'm not there."

"I'll still miss you." Kayla said.

"Same with me, honey." Randy said.

Kayla sat back in her seat then looked out the window and realized she was at the school.

"Have a good day." Randy said.

"You too daddy." Kayla said as she got out of the hummer and walked into the school.

"See you at three." He said. He watched Kayla go into the school before he drove back to the house.

Hours later Kayla was standing with her new friend Sarah laughing and talking as she waited for her dad. Sarah's mom Alexa was with them, keeping an eye on them.
