It's Been a While (John/Gia)

Gia sat in a local coffee shop, with her glasses on her face, looking over the lyrics to a new song she had just written. She debated to either record it today or not at the studio. In the middle of thinking and sipping on her mocha frappé, she heard the door open, letting someone into the building. She looked up to see the shop's new customer to see a strangely familiar face.

She let out a bold guess to who it could be. "John?" she asked in hope.

John was half way to the counter when he heard his named being called. He turned his head and looked at the woman then narrowed his eyes in curiosity. He could have sworn he knew her from somewhere but couldn't put a name on her.

"Do we know each other?" John asked.

Gia frowned slightly. She figured that he wouldn't remember her at first. "It's Gia, we grew up in West Newbury together."

Now it seemed to click and John smiled widely.

"Hey, it's good to see you. Sorry I didn't reconize you before." John said with a slight chuckle.

Gia smiled at the fact of John remembering her.

"No it's fine, it's been years since we last seen each other." Gia said.

"How have you been Gia?" John asked.

"I've been great John, thank you for asking. I just moved out here to L.A. How about you? I've been watching you on tv, you look great." Gia asked.

"I live in L.A. with my wife and kids and thank you. I love what I do." John said.

"You do? That's great." Gia said. "It's nice to know that you have a family now, who's the lucky girl?"

"Elle Cena." John said.

"The fashion designer?" Gia asked.

"That would be her." John said with a smile.

"Ooh. Johnny Boy's got a creative one. Congratulations." Gia smiled back.

"Thank you, what about you? Married to or dating anyone?" John asked.

"Nope, I'm lovin' the single life." Gia said.

"Well that's good, as long as you're happy." John said.

"Thanks, same with you." Gia said.

John nodded with a smile.

"So what are you doing job wise?" John asked.

"Becoming a rising star in the music industry. Just released a new album." Gia said.

"Cool. I'll be sure to look out for it." John said with a smile.

"Thank you." Gia said with a smile. "So why did you move all the way out here? Of you don't mind me asking."

"To support my wife and her career." John said.

"Oh, that was a nice thing to do." Gia said.

"She's my everything, I don't know what I would do without her, so I'm more than willing to move so she can have her career." John said.

"Aww, you're a good guy John. At least you're more than willing to do that for a girl." Gia said with a smile.
