Finally Doing This (Lula)

He had wanted to ask Lula out for a really, really, really long time. He just couldn't get the nerves to do it and when he finally did, he thought he had lost his chance, with both of their schedules seeming to completely conflict with them seeing each other. He really thought he blew it until she contacted him and still wanted to go out. That relieved him, cause he did not want to blow this at all. Lula was a great woman, he enjoyed spending time with her, and he really did like her a lot.

So, he planned this one out perfectly. He didn't want to be corny and do some cliche romantic dinner. He had decided to take her out for a fun night at a carnival that was going on in a town nearby the city the show was at.

He waited for Lula in the lobby of the hotel they were staying at, dressed casually, and trying not to let his nerves get the best of him.

Lula looked at herself in the mirror one last time and took a deep breath before walking out of her hotel room and to the elevator. After spending Christmas with Matt, she felt more comfortable with being herself around him. But with their schedules, she couldn't see him as much and now she was nervous all over again. Lula walked into the elevator and pressed the button for the lobby before looking down at her casual outfit for the evening. She had talked to Matt about their "date" that they were suppose to have, planned back before Christmas but it never happened, until she recently talked to the GM.

The elevator doors opened as she took another deep breath before walking out. She looked around the lobby for him before spotting him right in front of her. She mentally slapped her forehead before walking over to him and tapping his shoulder.

"Oh Matthew." Lula said with a smile.

"Hey Lula." He said, embracing her in a hug. "You look great...as you always do." He said with a warm smile.

"Hey." Lula said as she hugged him back. "Thank you, you look great as well."

"Well thanks." He said, pulling away from her and taking her hand in his. "Ready to go?"

"You're welcome." Lula said.

Lula smiled as Matt took her hand in his. "Yes sir."

"Great." He said, leading her out of the hotel. "How have you been?"

"I've been pretty busy with family, travelling, and training." Lula said. "How about you?"

"Just about the same. How's work been? You fitting in okay with everyone?" He asked.

"Work has been amazing so far." Lula said with a bright smile.

"I have been getting along with others, I'm finally getting rid of my shyness."

"And I'm sure everyone loves you backstage." He said, getting to the car and unlocking the doors. He went to the passengers seat and opened the door for her.

"Probably not everyone." Lula said as she sat in the passengers seat.
Lula smiled at Matt. "Merci."

"Welcome." He said, closing the door when she got inside and going over to the driver's seat. "Why wouldn't everyone like you? You're an amazing woman." He got inside and started the car.

Lula blushed lightly. "Here you are with the flattering again." Lula said. "Some people just don't like my style or my personality, but I don't mind."

"Not flattering, telling the truth." He said as he began to drive. "Well...that's an odd reason not to like someone. I happen to like both of those things, it's what makes you so unique and interesting."

Lula smiled. "Thank you."

"You're welcome, Lula." He said, glancing at her and giving her a smile.

Lula's smile widened as they made quick eye contact. "So what about you? How's being GM?"

"It's going good. I'm enjoying it, means more screen time for me, but I like it. It's a lot of fun having a more active role in the show." Matt replied.

"I'm glad that you're happy about having more screen time. Is being General Manager hard?" Lula asked.

"It's mostly just a title and an on-screen thing. The title is fancy and sounds like I am doing something." He chuckled.

Lula chuckled. "Oh, now I feel clueless, I'm glad you like it though.

"It's not that hard to understand." He chuckled. "But let's leave the work at work. Tonight it's up...us." He said with a smile.

"You're right." Lula said with a smile.

"I'm really glad we got to do this." He said.
