Back In The Day (John)

"You were very confused." John said with a chuckle.

Elle shot John a playful glare. "I got into it...eventually."

Flashback

Elle was going through their closet for something to wear. The sad part about it was that she wasn't going somewhere nice where it really mattered what she wore, she was going to a game with John. John got an offer to go to a game against the Celtics, so agreed to go, deciding to take Elle with him.

Elle didn't know too much about basketball..or sports that much at all, but she figured she'd be a good girlfriend and go. She wasn't paying too much attention to the clock, cause if she was, she would've realized that she was cutting it close to when the game started.

John was pacing around downstairs by the door as he waited for Elle. He constantly checked his watch for the time and looked up to see if Elle was finally coming down. She wasn't. For the last half hour she wasn't coming down. How could getting dressed for a basketball game take so damn long?!

"Elle! Are you ready yet?!" John yelled up the stairs.

"Umm...almost!" Elle yelled back. Deciding whether or not she should wear heels. "Why the hell do their colors have to be green? It's so..loud, I don't know what to wear with it."

"How about jeans and a damn jersey?" John asked, irritated.

"John if it was that easy, don't you think I would've thought about it by now." Elle said, but she did take his advice. Grabbing a pair of black skinny jeans and putting on the mostly white with green writing, Celtics jersey she'd gotten. She slipped on a pair of heels and grabbed her purse. She walked downstairs, but stopped in front of a mirror to check her and make-up.

John looked at Elle more impatient than ever.

"What are you doing? We have to go now!" John yelled.

"Oh my god, it's just a game. Relax, we're leaving..damn..." Elle said, rolling her eyes as she walked to the door.

"Just a game? It's not just a game and we're going to end up getting there late." John said as he walked out the door and to the car.

"Believe me when I say it's not the end of the world." Elle said as she got into the car after following John out of the house.

John got in the car after Elle and shook his head.

"You wouldn't understand." John said.

"Babe, we'll make it. Relax." Elle said.

John nodded then started driving.

Elle shrugged and looked out of the window.

John looked at his watch then groaned as he continued driving.

"What's going to happen if we're late? It's just the start." Elle said.

"I'll miss the start and I don't want to miss a second of this game." John said.

"Nothing happens in the beginning of the game." Elle said.

"Things can change babe." John said.

"I highly doubt that." Elle said.

"I don't. Expect the unexpected when it comes to anything." John said.

Elle rolled her eyes. "It's a basketball game."

"It's an important basketball game, all of them are." John said.

"Okay, John. Whatever you say." Elle said.

"You're a woman so of course you wouldn't get it." John said.
