Back In The Day (John)

"Aw...I agree, babe." Elle said, kissing his cheek.

John smiled widely then kissed Elle on her forehead.

"Do you remember our first official date?" Elle asked. "God knows why were a nervous wreck..it was just so, so bad."

John shook his head.

"I know, god. I don't know how we survived that one." John said.

"Me either it was just really, really bad..."

Flashback

Elle was pacing in around the living room of her apartment wearing a black dress. She was nervous, probably a bit more nervous than she needed to be cause it's not like she hadn't known John for forever, but this was like their first real date. And she really, really liked John and wanted everything to work out perfectly.

The plan was to go out to dinner and maybe do something afterwards. It seemed simple enough, but yet she couldn't control her nerves.

John was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt underneath as he drove to Elle's house. He was also really nervous for tonight and didn't understand why. Getting nervous for dates was never something that happened with him. Elle was different though, she wasn't like any other girl he dated. When he finally got to her house John stepped out of his car and gulped before he walked to the door. He ended up standing there for a few minutes before ringing the doorbell. God he hated being so nervous, he was going to look like an idiot now.

Elle opened the door and smiled when she saw John, but her stomach also did a huge flip.

"H-h-hi..." Elle said and her eyes widened, not believing she was actually stuttering. She cleared her throat before she spoke again. "Hey John."

John grinned. Elle looked amazing and that made him even more nervous.

"Uh...hey. You ready?" John asked.

"Oh yeah...I'm ready..." Elle said grabbing her jacket and when she was getting ready to walk outside, she let out a small gasp. "I'll be right back.." She said, realizing that she still had her slippers on. She ran back into the house to go get her heels.

John nodded without saying a word.

"Oh god please don't me this is her way of saying she's backing out of the date."

Every second she was in her house felt like hours to him.

Elle was searching around the house like crazy for her heels, she ran upstairs and in the process, tripped on her way. She hit the stairs with a loud thud. "Ow....ow.." She muttered, standing up. She slowly walked the rest of the way upstairs and grabbed her shoes and put them on before she walked downstairs.

John looked at Elle concerned.

"I heard a thud, are you okay?" John asked.

"Oh yeah...everything is all-..." Elle then paused as she tripped over herself walking up to John. "...fine.." She finished, blushing from embarrassment.

John walked closer to Elle and put his hands on her waist to try to prevent her from falling again.

"Are you sure you're okay?" John asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just a klutz tonight.." She replied, still completely embarrassed.

John nodded as he looked at Elle.

"You're...uh...cute when you blush." John said.

"Thanks, that's sweet of you to say." Elle said.

"You're welcome. You sure you're okay though?" John asked concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine now.." Elle said. "..I'm mean, I'm fine. Everything's okay."

John nodded with a small smile.

"I...guess we should go then." John suggested.

"Yeah, great idea." Elle replied.

John nodded then went to take Elle's hand but didn't know if he was being too forward so he stopped himself. He walked to his car and opened the passenger side door for Elle.

Elle noticed John was about to take her hand and when he didn't, she thought she did something wrong. She smiled weakly at him as she got into the car, thanking him softly.

John smiled back a little then went to the other side of the car and got in before he started driving.

Elle put her seatbelt on and looked out the window.
