Back In The Day (John)

"Is that weird?" Elle asked.

"No, I think it's nice. I kind of was only picking Kimberly because like I said before my mom was really bugging me to settle down. You were the one I wanted though." John said.

"Never liked her and I hated pretending to like her when I had to work with her in the hospital." Elle said.

"I honestly don't know what I saw in her." John said.

"Me either, you could've settled for someone a lot better." Elle said.

"I'm looking at someone better." John said as he looked at Elle.

Elle blushed. "You know what I meant."

"I did but what I said was true. You are so much better than her in every way possible." John said.

"I know I am, but thank you for telling me that." Elle said.

"You're welcome sweetie." John said with a smile.

Elle raised up and kissed John's cheek.

John's smile widened then wrapped his arms around Elle.

Elle cuddled up to John and gently nuzzled his neck.

John held Elle close to him as he kissed her on her temple.

Elle smiled as she began to play with John's dog tags.

"I love you Elle." John said as he rubbed her arm.

"I love you too, John." Elle said.

John smiled widely.

"I've never felt so lucky to be with someone in my life." John said.

"Wasn't luck, we were meant to be together." Elle said.

"We were, things happen for a reason and everything that's happened to us was to bring us closer." John said.

Elle sighed. "Even that skank of a sister Bree."

John sighed and shook his head.

"I can't believe she's your sister." John said.

"Trust me, I have a hard time believing it myself." Elle said.

"Are you sure she wasn't adopted or something?" John asked.

"Unfortunately, she wasn't. When my mother passed, I saw a copy of Bree's birth certificate..so..." Elle sighed.
