Quality Time Together (John/Elle)

John sighed after Elle's question because it wasn't until then that he realized the bus had actually stopped, which meant they were at the arena. At least it would only be a couple hours before he could get his wife alone with him again.

"After the dark match at the end I'm free to do whatever I want so yes, we can definitely pick off where we left off." John said.

Hearing John's answer, Elle smiled widely and pecked John on the lips before she got off of him and out of the bed. "Great! Maybe we can even go somewhere nice for dinner like we used to do too? ...or we can cuddle up and order room service since I know you'll be tired." Elle said, picking up her clothes off the ground and slipping them back on.

John got up as well so he could begin getting dressed. When he heard her suggestions for what they could do after the show he thought about each one. Staying in would give him time to relax, which was definitely needed after a match but he could tell by the look on Elle's face that she was hoping to do something special tonight.

"Let's go out to dinner, I don't mind." John said before adding a reassuring smile in case there were any questions regarding his sincerity.

As Elle put the jacket she had on over her tank top, a genuine look of surprise came across her features. She was not expecting John to go with that option. Elle knew first hand how busy John got when he was at these shows, she figured the last thing he'd want to do was go out.

"Really...are you being serious? Cause...I mean, we don't have to." Elle said.

John chuckled softly at the look on Elle's face, he knew she wouldn't be expecting his answer but didn't think she would be so surprised.

"Yeah, why not?" John asked as he slipped on a hoodie. "I think it'll be great for us to head out and get a nice meal. Much better ambience than a tour bus."

Elle's entire face lit up. Letting out a small squeal Elle jumped hurried over to John and hugged him tightly. "Thank you." Elle said, raising onto her toes and kissing him on the lips. "You have no idea how happy that makes me to hear you say that."

"I think I have an idea." John said, smiling to himself as he wrapped his arms around Elle to return the hug.

Tonight really taught him that the little things truly did matter in a relationship and the extra effort that he had to put forth was worth it. Why? Because seeing his wife smile the way she was now was something special, he couldn't remember the last time he saw her this happy.

"I love you so much." Elle smiled widely, kissing John on the lips once again quickly before pulling away from him. She didn't think such a small answer would make her that elated, but after all that they've been through, it was nice that they were both making steps to make things better. "Are you ready to get out of here?"

He grabbed his duffle bag, which had all his ring gear stored inside of it, then nodded his head.

"Yep. I have a ticket for you, by the way. So if you want to watch from the front row, once I go out there, just alert the security guards and someone will escort you to your seat." John said.

"Thanks." Elle said, walking from the bedroom that was in the back of the bus so that they could exit. "Do you know who you're going up against tonight?"

"I believe I'll be going up CM Punk." John said, walking towards the front of the bus so he could get off. "Though, you know Vince. He always changes things at the last minute."

"That's true, nothing really is for sure until you get out there in the ring." Elle nodded, walking out of the bus behind John. "But whether it's Punk or someone else, I'm sure you'll kick ass out there, babe."

"With you by my side, I know I can do anything." John said with a smile before he closed the door once Elle was off the bus.

He then took her hand and headed towards the entrance of the arena.

"Now you're just trying to flatter me." Elle grinned, walking with John into the building of the arena.

"Babe, you and the kids inspire me more than you know. Whenever you're backstage or in the crowd I'm always extra motivated to do better in the ring." John said, sincerity evident in his voice.

Hearing the sincerity in his voice, Elle couldn't help the wide smile that came across her face. "I love you so much, John."

"I love you too, Elle. That's one thing that'll never ever change." John said as he bent his head down so he could kiss her on the lips.
