Catching Up With Family (Randy/Courtney)

Elaine put preheated the oven before pouring the ingredients of the pie into the crust.

Kayla watched closely.

Elaine finished the pie and put it into the oven. She had done this so many times, that it didn't even take that much time.

"What do we do now?" Kayla asked.

"That's up to you sweetie." Elaine said.

"We could draw." Kayla said.

"Okay, I'll draw with you." Elaine said.

"Okay." Kayla said with a smile before she ran upstairs to get her coloring book.

Elaine smiled and went over to the table to sit down.

Kayla came running back down the stairs and into the kitchen with her coloring book and crayons.

"This is full of butterflies and flowers. I love it." Kayla said as she held up her coloring book then put it on the table.

"Well you pick something and I'll help you color it." Elaine said, taking a seat at the table.

"Okay." Kayla said as she grabbed a red crayon then opened the book to a page with several butterflies on it.

Elaine grabbed an orange crayon and began to color.

Kayla started coloring.

Elaine colored with Kayla.

Randy got up and walked into the kitchen.

"What are you two up to?" He asked.

"We're coloring." Kayla said as she looked over at Randy with a smile.

"Having fun?" Randy asked.

"Well, I know for sure Kayla's enjoying it." Elaine said.

Kayla looked at Elaine.

"You're not having fun?" Kayla asked with a pout.

"I am, just saying, I know you're having a good time, which is what matters." Elaine said.

"You having a good time matters too grandma." Kayla said.

"Aw, well thank you sweetie." Elaine said.

"You're welcome Grandma." Kayla said with a smile.

She looked back at Randy.

"Want to color with us?" Kayla asked.

"Yeah, come color with us." Elaine said.

"Sure." Randy said, taking a seat at the table.

Kayla handed Randy a blue crayon.

"Thanks." Randy said, taking the crayon and beginning to color.
