"I don't want to lose you, but I don't want to put my heart on the line again for it to get ripped out and stomped on. I can't handle that all over again."

I swear to god you will never have your heart broken again, I'm a changed man and the reason I changed is because of you. Because I love you so much and without you I feel like I'm nothing." John said.

Elle wiped her eyes and turned around as she went to go grab some plates from the cabinet. "Food's done." She replied in response, avoiding the entire conversation now, brought up too many emotions.

John looked at Elle with sympathy in his eyes then walked towards her and hugged her. She could push him off her if she wanted to but he didn't know what else to do or say. All he wanted to do was comfort her in some way.

Elle sighed, her arms wrapping around John. She tried to fight it, but cried lightly into his chest as she held onto him.
