Back In The Day (John)

"You sure?" Elle asked, still worried.

"Very sure." John said as he kissed Elle on her forehead.

"Okay." Elle nodded, letting out a long sigh.

John chuckled then hugged Elle.

"You sure you don't want help?" John asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Elle said, kissing John gently before going to the oven.

(Finally! They're back in the states!)

John smiled before he went into the living room and watched tv.

(I know! I noticed John tweet hours ago and thanked god. Finally I can use him on OSW Connected!)

Elle continued to work on finishing dinner. A bit later she heard the doorbell ring. She gulped and walked to the door nervously. She checked herself in the mirror nearby before she opened the door.

"Hi." Elle smiled, despite her nerves.

"Oh, you must be Elle, hello." Carol said, hugging her gently.

(I was so happy. Never thought I'd be so happy for him to tweet before in my life. lol.)

John heard the doorbell and turned off the tv before he stood up. He walked to the door and smiled widely when he saw his mom.

"Hey mom, it's good to see you." John said.

(Me neither. lol)

"John, it's so good to see you, honey." Carol said, going over to John and hugging him tightly. "I've missed you."

"The food should be done in a minute." Elle said, before excusing herself to go back into the kitchen.

"You just going to stand there or are you going to show your mother around?" Carol asked.

"I don't know, I like the lighting right here." John joked before he started walking Carol around the house.

Carol laughed lightly, following John around. "So, tell me about Elle."

"She's the love of my life, a truly amazing woman. Elle is everything I could ever ask for in a girlfriend, wife, and mother of my child." John said.

Carol nodded, she always trusted John's judgment, but like any mother, she worried. She could tell from what John had said about Elle that he liked her, but in the back of her mind it concerned her with fast things were moving. Elle seemed nice and John seemed happy as well, but she was protective of John.

"You know I always have your best interest at heart. But I just worry about how quickly things moved between you two. We hear you're seeing a girl and the next thing we know, she's pregnant and you two are running off to Vegas to get married. You understand my concern, right?" She said.

John sighed.

"Yeah I do mom but this isn't some meaningless shot gun wedding, I have to marry her because she's pregnant type of thing. I really love her and once you get to know her you'll love her too." John said.

"I just want the best for you, that's all. I don't want you to rush into anything and get hurt. You know how these girls can be." Carol said.

"I know that very well mom and I appreciate what you're doing but Elle's not like them. Trust me." John said reassuringly.

"Okay, okay, I trust you." Carol said. "Am I having a grandson or daughter?"

"Grandson." John said with a proud smile.

"Your father is going to love that." Carol said.

"I know, don't tell him though. I was waiting to tell you first." John said.

"You're too sweet, honey." Carol smiled. "We thought you'd never give us grandbabies, we're so happy that you're having a child."

"Geez way to have had such little faith in me." John said with a small chuckle.

"You work so much, we were beginning to think the worse." Carol said

"I guess it just took the right person to get me to settle down." John said.

"If you're happy, than I am happy for you." Elle said.
