Nine Months, Twice Over (John)

Elle nodded. "Just hurry..are we close?"

"Yeah, about ten minutes." John said.

Elle nodded again in reply, trying not to think about it. She was just thankful that they were close to the hospital cause the baby was not going to wait anymore, she knew he wanted to be out.

Within a few minutes John was at the hospital. He turned off the car in front of the hospital, it was illegal to do that but right now that didn't matter. John got out of the car and rushed over to the passenger side of the car then got Elle out. He picked her up and carried her into the hospital then ran to the front desk.

"Help! My wife is having a baby!" John yelled.

The nurses rushed over to John and took Elle from him. The brought a gurney over and quickly moved Elle to the maternity ward. They got Elle into a room, telling John he could in once they got everything settled.

The baby was coming a lot sooner than Elle had anticipated. She was too far into labor for them to drug her and Elle would have to give birth naturally..without drugs. That terrified Elle and it showed on her face...

(A Few Hours Later)

Elle had been in labor two hours and finally had given birth to their first child. Anthony Keith Cena, a baby boy.

She was exhausted, lying down in the hospital looking pretty lifeless as she slowly tried to gain her strength together.

The nurses brought over the boy to John, asking if he wanted to hold him.

Elle looked over and smiled weakly, her voice soft. "That's our baby..."

John nodded slowly then looked down at his son after the nurses gave the baby to him. He was in awe, not able to believe he was a dad. "Wow" was all he could think for a few moments as he stared at the little boy. Then John looked up at Elle and smiled.

"Thank you for giving me a son." John said.

She shook her head slightly at the "thank you" thinking it was unnecessary. "He's so handsome." Elle said. "I don't think I've loved anything so quickly before in my life."

"Me neither...I'm just in awe." John said before he looked back down at their son.

"Me too, it's amazing. Nine months have finally brought us here, I am so happy right now." Elle said.

"I'm happy too, I couldn't be happier if I tried. I love you so much Elle and I love our son." John said as he smiled at Elle.

"And we love you as well." Elle said, letting out a yawn.

"You should get some rest." John said.

Elle simply nodded, her eyes already closed as she drifted off to sleep moments later.

(Three years later)

Okay, so this wasn't exactly planned...okay, maybe it was. It was just a mess a really, really confusing mess. She didn't know what was going on, how she felt, or what to think of this situation.

Yes, her and John were still technically separated. And yes, the two of them got so caught up in the moment that they'd been hooking up...a lot but it was just...confusing.

She wanted to hate him. She really, really did, especially after all that happened. After she'd seen him with Bree and then Emily soon after. But she'd been sick, extremely sick, throwing up a lot, and she was late. She wasn't dumb, having been through this twice already, once with Anthony and the second time with their unborn child who she miscarried a year and a half ago.

But this...fuck..wasn't good timing at all.

She took a test and what she thought was confirmed, she was pregnant. She sighed debating on whether or not to call John. They may have been hooking up but by no means were they back together.

She dialed and hung up about three times before she forced herself to stay on the phone, hoping he wouldn't answer.

John looked at the phone in his hand. After all the time he answered to hear a call ended tone he was started to get slightly annoyed. Though he couldn't blame Elle. He had been wrong this whole time and if he was her shoes he would be just as nervous to talk to him too. When he saw it was Elle's number he picked it up and waited a few seconds to see if the same thing would happen again. A minute passed and when she didn't hang up again John decided to speak.

"Elle?" John asked.

There was silence on her end for a long moment as she tried to get over her nerves. She looked down at the pregnancy test that was in her hand and sighed as she leaned against the sink in the bathroom. "Hey..John..." She said. "Uh...you busy?"

"No, you want me to come over?" John asked.

"Yeah...can you..." Elle said, pretty sure it sounded like she wanted another quickie before she had to pick Anthony up. She just couldn't get herself to say what she needed to, at least not over the phone. Funny how two pregnancies later she still couldn't just flat out tell John that she was pregnant but like the first time and now, the situation was just weird.

"Sure." John said.

A quickie did cross John's mind but something in the tone of Elle's voice suggested otherwise. He got up and put a hat then went to find his shoes.

"Great, see you in a bit." Elle said before she hung up the phone. She facepalmed and now regretted making the phone call, wanting to redial his number and tell him not to come over. She let out a long sigh, running her hands through her hair as she walked out of the bathroom, pregnancy test still in her hand.

"Oy...why me? Why couldn't this just wait." She said to herself as she walked downstairs. She wanted this, she really did, but she at least wanted it to happen when her marriage...or well, relationship was stable.

John put his phone in his pocket then slipped on his shoes and put on a jacket. He grabbed his keys off the bedside table then walked out of the hotel he was staying in after he moved out of the house Elle and he owned. After twenty minutes he was parked in the driveway of the house and got out before he walked to the door. John rang the door bell then waited for Elle to come to the door.

Elle got snapped out of her train of thought when she heard the door bell ring. She stuck the pregnancy test under magazine that was on the coffee table and stood up to go to the door. She opened it and she was going to flat out say but she couldn't...what a surprise there.

She put on a smile. "Hey." She said before she pulled John into the house, closing the door behind him. Yeah...this definitely wasn't going to be said right now and she was afraid if she talked now, she'd blurt out, so she did the next best thing. She pulled him into a kiss and lead him further into the house. She figured a distraction would be a better than saying what was needed. She never said it was a good option, it was just the easiest one and maybe she could pretend none of this was happening?

John was thrown off when Elle kissed him. He shrugged then kissed her back before he wrapped his arms around her. The phone call and her tone of voice during the phone call soon popped into his head and he forced himself to pull away from Elle.

"Um...what's going on?" John asked.

"Nothing.." Elle lied as she began to kiss his neck and moved closer to him. "Why would something be up? This is what it normally is." She said, hoping it sounded convincing, that usually would've been the point that she took off her shirt to distract him, but she was showing a lot earlier than she previously had and it would be kind of obvious what she was trying to hide at the moment. Cause he'd either think she gained weight or that she was pregnant again.

"You sounded off on the phone...and you're sounding off now too." John said.

"Why are you making this so difficult, Cena?" Elle asked. "Most men would be completely content with having a woman throwing herself at him, but no, you're sitting here over analyzing how I sounded on the phone. Goodness..." Elle said defensively as she walked into the living room.
